Graphics & Web Design

Graphics & Web Design

“It all starts here.
And everything else follows.

Graphics & web design are usually the first topics a new client wants to know about. However, since you have been reading these pages, you know that you don’t start there. Graphics & web design are deeper in the development process.

Accolade Group of Vermont is unique in that it can offer you affordable website development. This is because we have a partnership with our sister company, Accolade Group of India, which creates websites for our clients – at lower Indian prices – and our clients benefit!

Accolade Group of India was founded by Ujjwal Pal who lives in India and has worked for us since 2015. The company he founded, our sister company, handles all of our website graphics and development. We work very closely with his company and he works under our direction.

Note that I spend six months yearly in India and work with Ujj’s company. If you want to know how that happened, read An American In India. It’s really an unusual story.

OK, back to business.

Once you have a strategy for your online presence, you can begin to build the website of your dreams. Remember, you develop your strategy after you have completed digital marketing  consulting.

By now you know that you shouldn’t be asking, “How many pages will the website have? What will you put on those pages?” Rather, you will see that your strategy and research efforts will guide you in the proper direction.

How glitzy and shiny do you want your website to be? Do you want the latest cutting-edge technology to be used? This is where you need to strictly moderate your website graphics.

The latest technology sometimes means that the graphics & web design for the pages of your website practically do a song and dance routine when a visitor lands on them. The problem with glitz and the song and dance routine, is that the visitor to the webpage will be easily distracted from the point – frequently a sales point – that you want to make.

You have fewer than 10 seconds to get the attention of a visitor to your page. Why, then, would you want the visitor’s eye to leave the text and follow something bouncing around the web page only because you like the cute graphics?

Right at this point is when the 2021 Google algorithm of Core Web Vitals comes into play. Google sees all this activity and is not very forgiving for the text no mater how beautifully you think it dances.

So, stick to the topic and don’t distract your visitor!

What do you want to put on your home page and all the other pages that will work nicely with SEO? You are planning on SEO, aren’t you?

If you’re not thinking about SEO, then why do you want a website?

Without following a plan for SEO, your website will soon become dated and dated means not relevant and not relevant means…it will disappear from the search results. And then, why are you paying for a website?

I think you see immediately that graphics & web design are not the topics you begin with.

To help keep a website relevant, you need to constantly make updates to your content. And that, if you haven’t already guessed it, can be time consuming, boring, costly.

But, if you don’t make updates, your website will soon become as relevant as last week’s newspaper. How many times will you read last week’s newspaper before you become tired of it and go somewhere else?

This is what is behind Google’s idea of giving a searcher “a good experience.” If Google constantly returns websites that haven’t been updated when it gives search results, users will stop depending on Google to give them helpful information – and they go elsewhere. A large part of your SEO efforts is to oversee, constantly oversee, the relevancy and timeliness of your website.

Fortunately, you can help make things a little easier for yourself by incorporating a blog into your website. This is the creation of a new web page once or twice a month that follows a simple format and can be completed quickly.

Implementing a blog on your website is just one of the many ways you can keep your website relevant. With good planning, the graphics & web design you use will additionally contribute to your website’s success.
